Independent Crusaders Project
The Independent Crusaders Mapping Project takes advantage of emerging digital tools to shed light on individuals who assumed the identity of crusader and traveled to the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem outside of the major, canonical crusades.
RIALFrI - Repertorio Informatizzato Antica Letteratura Franco-Italiana
RIALFrI contains a database of medieval Franco-Italian literature written in Northern Italy between the 13th-15th centuries, includes a number of crusader texts.
A Database of Crusaders to the Holy Land, 1095-1149
A compilation begun by J. Riley-Smith, the database brings together information on people who took part in the crusades to the Holy Land in the period between the Council of Clermont (1095) and the end of the Second Crusade (1149).
Bearers of the Cross
A collaboration between the University of Birmingham and the Museum of the Order of St. John (MOSJ), this project's purpose is to develop new knowledge and understanding of the lived, material religion of medieval crusaders through a wide-ranging analysis of the texts, art, architecture and material culture associated with crusader belief.
Troubadours, Trouveres and the Crusades
Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the UK, this project provides digital access to a number of medieval song materials related to crusading.
Revised Regesta Regni Hierosolymitani Database
Begun by J. Riley-Smith, this database is meant as a companion to Röhricht’s Regesta, providing a calendar of charters, legal documents, and letters composed in Latin Syria.
